At Somerset Equus, safety is woven into every part of our practice. Whether we are working alongside our horses, welcoming visitors onto our yard, or supporting children, young people, and adults through relational, nature‑based sessions, we hold physical and emotional wellbeing at the centre of what we do. This page brings together all of our key Health & Safety documents so that families, professionals, and commissioners can easily access the information they need.
Our policies are reviewed annually, or sooner if guidance changes or an incident requires us to update our procedures. This ensures that our approach remains current, robust, and aligned with best practice across equine‑assisted services, trauma‑informed work, and outdoor provision.
We believe in transparency and collaboration. If you are a fellow practitioner, school, local authority, or community organisation, we are happy to share our policies and contribute to wider conversations about safe, ethical, and relational practice. Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to discuss any aspect of our approach or request copies for your own reference.
